One of the questions we receive most often is: If the eyewear is authentic, why is it so much less than retail?

Designer eyewear does not have to be purchased directly from a designer's boutique to be authentic.

Designer Daydream operates as an independent retailer, allowing us to source inventory at pricing that enables us to offer significant savings compared with traditional department stores and designer boutiques.

Our inventory includes a constantly changing combination of current-season styles, previous-season collections, discontinued models, and harder-to-find frames. Pricing varies depending on the style, availability, season, and how the inventory was acquired.

Our business has always been built around finding exceptional designer pieces at exceptional prices—and passing those savings along to our customers.

Where Does Your Eyewear Come From?

Designer Daydream sources genuine designer eyewear through established suppliers and distribution channels within the eyewear industry.

Many of the world's largest luxury fashion houses license or entrust their eyewear production and distribution to major eyewear manufacturers. Depending on the brand, these include companies within groups such as Kering Eyewear, Thélios, and EssilorLuxottica.

We do not manufacture replicas, purchase counterfeit merchandise, or sell unauthorized reproductions.

Is Everything In Stock?

Yes. Our inventory is physically on hand. We do not dropship our eyewear.

When an item is listed as available on Designer Daydream, the merchandise is stocked by us and orders are fulfilled directly from our inventory in New York.

This also allows us to inspect merchandise prior to shipment rather than having an unknown third party fulfill your order.

What Comes With My Eyewear?

Our eyewear includes the original manufacturer packaging and accessories supplied with that particular item.

Depending on the designer, model, collection, and production season, this may include:

• Designer case

• Cleaning cloth

• Manufacturer box

• Booklets or documentation

• Protective packaging

• Additional accessories specific to the model

Packaging is not identical across every designer or every season.

For example, a designer may change its cases, boxes, cleaning cloths, packaging materials, or included accessories between collections. Some brands also supply certain eyewear without a traditional retail box.

For this reason, the absence of a particular style of box, case, booklet, or "authenticity card" should not by itself be used to determine whether eyewear is authentic.

How Do I Know My Designer Eyewear Is Authentic?

Authentic designer eyewear can contain numerous identifying characteristics depending on the manufacturer and model, including model numbers, color codes, sizing information, manufacturing markings, logos, engravings, hardware, and other brand-specific details.

These details can change significantly between brands and even between different collections from the same designer.

This is also why comparing a newly purchased frame to a different pair you already own isn't always an accurate way to determine authenticity. Different models may be manufactured at different facilities, use different materials or hardware, or come from completely different production seasons.
